Use your gifts for His glory
Kumveka is made up of creative professionals all around the world who want to use their professional skills and experiences in a ‘non-traditional’ missions context. This is truly not for everyone. We work with limited resources. We are constantly learning what it means to communicate effectively across cultures (and have made our fair share of mistakes in doing so!). We go from discussing cultural nuances in the Middle East to color schemes in China. We meet with ministry clients at crazy hours of the day (or night!). And, occasionally, we get the incredible privilege to travel overseas to see the hands and feet of Christ in action.
We have three avenues for you to plug in:
- Freelancers – If you are a creative professional and your livelihood derives from freelance or contract work, then we would ask you to explore joining our freelance team. We pay a non-profit rate based on the annual AIGA survey (for most positions). We guarantee you won’t get rich. But you will have lots of fun.
- Volunteers – If you are a creative professional and have the financial freedom to offer your giftings pro bono… Wow. Great! We still put you through the same filter as any paid team members (see below). And all your coffee is free.
- Interns – Our intern program began Summer 2010. For the right candidates, we will continue this program throughout the year. All intern positions are unpaid. But the fun guarantee above does apply. And you will learn an unbelievable amount about missions and the global church.
Our process for determining if we have the right fit:
- Initial contact. Please click here and complete our interest survey. It will help us to begin getting to know you.
- Intro conversation. You might call it an interview; we call it 'Getting to Know Each Other.'
- Volunteer sample project. For freelancers and volunteers, this is a small project that allows us to sample what it’s like to work together. It’s as much for you to get to know us and the dynamics of our team, as it is for us to better understand your skill set. We pursue excellence in all we do as the Person we ultimately serve deserves our best.
- Join a Project Team. For each new project, we form a multi-disciplinary project team. You could find yourself invited to work with a Project Manager in China, a photographer in Prague, a web developer in Colorado – all for a ministry in Ethiopia!
If you are STILL interested, then we would really love to get to know you. This is one of our favorite parts of this ministry. Two requests:
- Email us your resume and portfolio (if appropriate)
- Complete our interest survey.
